A french saying, usually told by seamen is: "le calme suit toujours la tempête".

I would translate it by "the calm weather is always following the tempest?"

Preserve and keep your forces as much as you can.

I'm so sorry you have had such bad weather but it looks like you're staying in the same position. All the Vercollones say hello, wish you well and can't wait for the stories of this adventure when you get home. Nick has emailed the four schools that he has applied to and told them about your row and gave them the web site. The heads of the schools as well as the rowing coach at Brewster Academy are all tracking you.
I don't know if you know this but Nick's team came in first place in his division in the three races he had at the Icebreakers rowing race in Boston Harbor. He was the team leader. It was great.
Stay safe and hope you'll be gaining some miles soon. Nick says hi.

Linda, Britannia III

Wow, I have just rowed for 2 hours on the ergo, covering 22,320 m (which is 12 nautical miles) just to see what it's like! - and that was after a 6k run!

I got cramp in left chin muscle, 1 blister, a stiff neck, tingly fingers and was scared to stand up when finished - just after 2 hours! (even though I normally do 1 hour ok)

I had the luxury of a hot shower, nice food and relaxation, safe in the knowledge of not having to do it again in just 2 hours! - and after 27 days of the same....it really is hard to imagine

You are amazing, you and the whole crew of Britannia III, and all the other crews in the race - keep it going, strong and focused, but above all, enjoy... x
